I am currently taking a course of photojournalism. I have learned the rule of thirds, about lighting, moments, environmental pictures, and we are moving into covering sports. I remember always enjoying taking pictures. I always take ownership of my sisters' camera...sorry, but not really. I used to look through the view finder and SNAP, take a picture. Now, I know better. It takes time, and sometimes patience, but when you see the results of applying practices learned you may even surprise yourself sometimes. I still have a long way to go in photography. However, God has provided the courses, not only the one I am taking right now, but one I had in High School, where I learned to develop photographs, and in the future, I know God has a plan for all the education He provides. At the very least, for me to get lost in awe of His small display of His enormous glory here on Earth through my small eyes. I chose these three blog websites because I love how they capture the present, love, and all of the above. Really, I like to take pictures that will give me something to look at in my future that reveals the importance of the past. Not vacation pictures; you know what I mean, the one with aunt Lola, you and your cousin standing awkwardly in front of a restaurant’s name very quick to shoot because the other tourists are heading to the same spot to take a picture. If you get lucky you will not have another person’s arm at one of the corners of your photograph. That just drives me insane! In other words, I like memories engraved in photographs. I have not been able to do this myself, but I hope that with a little more time in this course I will be able to capture stories. I want to tell stories of individuals, families, events, through photography. I see the importance of photographers and writers working together. This will come in handy when I work for a magazine or newspaper, God willing. I had my share of being a backpack journalist this summer at my internship at La Prensa. It is as God states in His Word, we all have different gifts, but they are all valuable. We all need our companions’ gifts and they need ours. So share and value each others’ gifts. While surfing the web, I found greattakes, which is a young man's website of photography. He says "In a nutshell...I love people, romance, emotion, making people smile and laughter. I hope you are able to see into the heart of what I do as you "blog" with me!" Awwww, as a female its impossible to resist... yet, I did look and critiqued some of his photographs to make sure he did do what he said he likes to do and capture. He does. The next blog website is from an older gentleman, who also displays family, love and one of the finest settings ever, (yes I am biased), the beach. I enjoy the beach so much. In his website he not only shares his photography but lists suggestions on what is best to take such photos and he also shares both what he has learned and his family. I think that if I was a professional photographer I would have the overstated phrase of "Live, Love, Laugh" as a motto. Now the last blog website was really neat, not only because of the type of pictures and composition that this photographer has on sale (beach oriented), but also because of the extensive list of photography blog websites that are out there for the viewing. Wow! Too much fun, so little time.
